I wasn't sure, to be honest, Jamie. No-one had responded to the post on House of Hell so I wasn't sure that my viewpoints were being welcomed.
My local games store should be getting the new products in soon, so I will check them out in the not-too-distant future. |

Rabel,
In hind sight, yes there was some alterations that I could have made to warlock to make it play better (although that would have gone against what Myriador had set out to do). If you do get the new adventures, they are much better: less linear, more explantions of why things are there (the Goblins at the Schanker mines in Shamutanti Hills Etc).
I did read your comments on House of Hell and to be honest, I agree with every single one. It is an adventure that i will look forward to doing. In a way I am glad that I have had chance to 'get into the swing of things' adventure converting wise, before tackling House of Hell. If I had done it first, I may have been lynched by now :)

Yeah, understood. There has to be a learning process involved, which is why I wanted to give as much feedback as I could early on. Its great to hear that some of the points are being taken on board as they're obviously developments from a source that is dear to a lot of our hearts.
I look forward to checking out the new products, and I'm heartened that you agree with the points I raised regarding a conversion of House of Hell/Hades (though I was a little surprised you agreed with every single one! )
As always, if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know. I'd be eager to participate in any way, even if its just by trying to stimulate discussion on these boards. |

its quite funny seeing other peoples opinions on the FF gamebooks, i played them as a kid/teen so plot wasn't exactly of the highest importance to me, though i could tell which ones were more involved etc, but i think its weird people analysing these books to a very critical level when they were published primarily for children.
though obviously if its being made into d20 D&D it will need to be analysed as such because adults will be playing 'em.
i played WoFT recently and i love it just cos its so random. personally when i play D&D i like making up my own stories anyway so i thought the review was abit weird saying the module was linear, i dont see how it can be, its only as linear as the players and DM suggest really.
i will say i was surprised the river was called Kok though! |

ill also just add that that bit where the reviewer complains about what you can do when you get to the bridge, yeah the pirahna's should do something if you fall in as opposed to swimming, but any DM with half a brain would change it themselves. i suppose one reaction to this would be to correct mistakes on reissues (hoping and praying they sell well!)
however, if you used your own characters who's to say none of them couldn't cast a flying spell and fly over? :) |
