Hi all. Before I start into this be warned this has spoilers for WoFM. You have been warned.

My campaign uses the Dragonlance setting so there were a few changes. Also due to character levels there have been a couple changes as well.

Party:

K'Aros, Minotaur Barbarian 2.
Gallic O'Riordan, Human Bard 2.
Theo, Human Mystic 2.
Talon, Silvanesti Elf Ranger 2.
Dagon Borrowlots, Kender Rogue 2.

And following Dagons death:

Jarren Starbreeze, Silvanesti Elf Monk 2.

---

Part 1.

Whilst relaxing after their last adventure, word falls to the party that there may be work for them. A venerable mage from the Towers of High Sorcery has put the word around that he needs a party of adventurers prepared to go mage hunting.
The party speak with him and learn that in a nearby dungeon dwells a renegade mage whom the Orders of High Sorcery wish destroyed. Their reasons are their own. Suffice to say that his goblin and hobgoblin minions have raided local caravans and villages and the party may keep whatever treasure they find for themselves.
Initially dubious they eventually agree, and leave straight away after buying some new purchases (armour, weapons and such).

The entrance to the dungeon seemed unguarded. Lighting torch and lantern they descend into the interior. Upon reaching a junction they become aware of snoring from the left and realise that the goblin on sentry duty was asleep. Dagon quickly and silently cut da grass. For the time being they ignored the right hand passage and followed the tunnel that the sentry was guarding.
The first room they found held only a sleeping goblin and Dagon once again removed this threat before it could wake up. The second room was empty apart from a chest. When the chest was opened, Dagon was attacked by a vicious serpent hidden inside. He would have surely died had his companions not come to his aid. Talon severed the serpents head and kept it hoping that its venom may come in useful. They also found a numbered key in their searches. The party encountered a couple more goblins and slew them quickly before the alarm could be raised.
From here they reached another junction. From the left they heard pitiful cries and the sound of a whip. Dagon who could understand the base tongue of goblins translated what was heard. The party burst in and fought the occupants.
Moving on, they continued down the twisting corridors before reaching a T-junction. From one way they heard screams for help and from the other, the clatter of pans and move goblin voices. Deciding that one way led to a kitchen they thought that it was a better idea to deal with that threat than have it come up behind them. The fight was long and bitter, as these hobgoblins were trained warriors, but they eventually fell. Talon badly wounded, dropped the serpents head into the cooking pot out of spite.
From here they sought out the calls for help. Theo went to check a portcullis he saw at the end of the corridor past a couple of doors while the rest of the party smashed their way into the cell to rescue the prisoner. Alerted by the noise goblins emerged from neighbouring rooms and battle was once again joined. The goblins fell quickly although they have one unconscious who may proove to be a source of information should he ever awake.
Checking the map that Theo was making they realised that they had missed the right hand corridor wen they entered the dungeon. Throwing the dead goblins and hobgoblins into the prison cell and shutting the door, they retruned to that room.
The door was stuck but not trapped. K'Aros threw himself at the door and it collapsed under his great weight and he tumbled down into a pit. He suffered minor injuries and was able to escape the pit with his friends aid.

To be continued...

Glad you're enjoying it.

I forgot to include that they spoke with the prisoner in the cell, and learnt what little he knew about the place. Unwilling to leave him here or take him back to Flotsam, they have decided that it would be safer for him to come with them for now.

Part 2.

After pulling K'aros from the pit they return to the portcullis. Dagon examines the portcullis and both levers and is able to identify one lever as a trap. Happy with his findings, the party open the portcullis and it cranks noisily up into the ceiling.
From here they are faced with a T-Junction and after looking both ways they agree on making their way down the right hand side. They reach a bend with a seat carved from a tree trunk. Gallic looks it over and finds a potion bottle tucked behind it. He wipes the dust and cobwebs away before stashing it in his backpack.
Their next encounter could have gone bad but they were careful and were able to spy a giant spider in a cave just off of the passage. They agreed that it would probably be no threat so long as no one went in there and so they moved on.
Talon soon spied fresh tracks in the dust taking a branching corridor and the party followed. After passing another door, the tracks headed into a room at the end of the passageway. The faint flicker of flame was visible under the door. Dagon snuck up but could hear only snoring. They quietly opened the door and found a barbarian asleep next to a crude campfire. Upon waking him, they had to quickly explain who they were before he attacked. They learnt that he was a survivor/prisoner taken by the hobgoblins on their last caravan raid. Unfortunatley he been unable to reach the levers that opened the portcullis so he had remained here on the off chance that he could sneak out. He also warned them that there was an ogre guard around here and that he was best avoided. The party asked him to take Aaron out of the dungeon with him and he agreed.
The next room they found was empty except for an iron statue of a cyclops, with a beautiful gemstone for its singular eye. Although curious about the gem, they feared the statue animating and made a retreat to check the other passageways.
The next room they found held foodstuffs and goods waylaid from caravans, and a prisoner - one of the merchants. He spoke of them stockpiling goods and foodstuffs but he had not seen enough of the dungeon to help out the party. They freed him from his binds and gave him directions to the entrance. Once he was gone, they searched the goods in here and took a couple of items. Theo went back to the portcullis and laid down caltrops just in case any hobgoblin reinforcements returned.
Opening the door at the end of this passageway they found a chamber filled with shadowy-webbing that Talon recognised as residue of shadow magics being cast. Fearful once again, they closed that door and returned to the portcullis, heading left this time.
After finding a couple of dead ends, they heard the ogre returning, and prepared an ambush for him. The fight was brief and the ogre died at the hands of K'aros in the end. On his body they found another key stamped with a number.
Their next encounter was with Zagor's accountant/librarian who kept the ledgers of expenditures. The party was most surprised that neitherhe nor his gremlin companion were hostile and they even enjoyed a few rounds of dice with the man. Not too sure about him they left him alone for now and made their way across a trapped tile room by use of a ladder K'Aros had seen in the store room. In the tunnels beyond poor Dagon fell afould of a poison gas trap that robbed him of much of his health (7 con!!!) but he was bale to recover another numbered key.
Returning back to the portcullis, K'Aros collected a shield from the armoury and went and tied it to the head of the iron statue... carefully. Feeling better they passed through that room and a couple others before reaching the bank of an underground river complete with rope bridge, raft and a bell. They still had a door past the "shadow" room so they returned to there. K'Aros and Talon entered but as they reached halfway, the room was plunged into darkness and a horrific scream arose which plunged Gallic into unconsciousness. They fled the room, shutting the door and fleeing.
All felt exhausted so they decided to return to the room where the barbarian slept in order to sleep and rest.

My group has praised this module as being one of the best they have played. I think everyone at Myriador should give themselves a big pat on the back.

Part 3.

The party were wken in the early hours by the return of hobgoblins who had been out on patrol looking for caravans to raid for supplies. Concerned about the lack of guards, the hobgoblins begin a systematic search of the dungeon. The party prepare an ambush for them at the portcullis. A sleep spell from Gallic put four of them out for the count, and the rest fell easily.
They interrogated one of the sleeping hobgoblins and slew the rest. From that one captured prisoner they learnt that they were paid to raid small caravans for food and supplies, although they know not the reason. They left him bound and gagged in the prison cell with the other dead hobgoblins.
From here they decided once again to recheck the "shadowy" room and K'Aros was able to pass through it unhindered although they know not why. He checked the rooms beyond and returned to inform his companions what he had found.
Gallic was still curious about the unchecked room across from the giant's lair and so they returned. Dagon snuck up to the giant's cave and found him asleep. The kender decided that it was best for all if he killed the giant in his sleep but the cut da grass only awoken and enraged the monster. Dagon was sadly killed immediately after, and his companions had to put the giant down. It finally died when Gallic shot it up the backside!
While the fight raged at one end of the corridor, Theo opened the door to the unchecked room and was set upon by dire rats! Again, the others had to come to his rescue. After this fight they salvaged Dagon's equipment and esxplored the room where the rats were.
Beneath the rubble of this room they found a trap door. Peering through they saw a small cave with a shoot on the far side. The skeletal remains of four people were lying down there. After checking the room out they realised that the shoot let to a dead-end that they had found much earlier.
K'Aros then went and checked the beach here. Tying rope to his axe, he lowered it into the water to gage depth and speed. It snagged on something and pulling with all his might, he pulled up a giant sandworm, his axe stuck in its mouth! After a titanic struggle, the minotaur managed to free his axe and the worm sank back beneath the waves.
Left with only the bridge, bell or raft they made their way back to that beach. Talon rang the bell and they watched the ferryman punt it over. K'Aros feared that the ferryman may have been one of the skeletal Charon demons but thankfully he was prooved wrong. Money was handed over and the party ferried back over the river. The ferryman explained that he had just two days ago brought an adventurer over but that that he had been captured by the Boatmaster. Talon paid him in advance for the return journey and then they asked directions to this boatmaster. They burst into his room and spied the boatmaster, his hellhound and a gagged elf prisoner (This is how I got the new character in). A brief fight ensued and they were able to free the prisoner - an elven monk - whom they healed and invited to accompany them.
The next room they checked was the boatyard where animated skeletons worked putting a boat together. Theo turned them and they crumbled to dust, free at last. They then asked the ferryman why Zagor was building boats but he simply said that he didn't know, just that was what he wanted.
Talon decided that he was going to try the middle door on the beach, but the others headed north from the boathouse and ran into a Wight which K'Aros dispatched with a single mighty blow from his axe.

Part 4.

Before continuing, the party gathered Talon and their new companion to avoid splitting the party up. Safety first. They moved on from the room that held the Wight and found themselves in the first tunnels of the maze. Following it around they soon found a crypt dedicated to Chemosh, god of death and the undead. While they stood there debating what to do, two of the party noticed a coffin against the far wall begin to move. All bar K'Aros jumped the emerging vampiric figure and slew it but not before Jarren suffered a nasty injury to his leg.
The next room along they encountered four zombies, but these were quickly dispatched without a problem. Theo, who was the map maker, was releaved to find that this room led back to the shore. They had two ways out of the maze if needed.
Entering the maze proper, they found a room where three dead bodies had been laid out. Now aware that the maze was perhaps full of the undead, they decided to shoot the bodies from the doorway. One of them sat up in a rage of pain, hissing and growling. Combat was joined but once again, the party emerged unscathed.
After wandering the maze they encountered a room full of dwarves. The dwarves had been exploring the old kender tunnels beneath Goodlund when they found their way in here. Theo went to check their story out, and found another possible (of cramped) escape way. When informed that they had found a dead dwarf earlier in the dungeon, the dwarves grew sad and said that they must return to their clan to bring the news. Theo shared with them part of their map so that they could recover his body. In thanks, the dwarves warned the party of a feral minotaur dwelling within the maze and to watch out for it.
The party spent much time wandering the maze, always on the verge if becoming lost until they located the Burgess, the Maze Master. The party noticed that he had a complete map of the dungeon and they jumped him, wrestling him to the floor to get the map. Burgess was then tied up while they party compared his map to their own.
After much debate, they decided that it was Zagor they had come for and so returned Burgess to the ferryman who took him across the river so he could leave the dungeon.
K'Aros wanted to find peace for his minotaur brethren within the maze and so following the map they located its room. By looks of it, the feral minotaur had been hideously tortured and scarred. It had gone completely mad. The fight was brief and he was put out of his misery. Searching his room, the party found another numbered key.
Next stop, Zagor's lair.
To get there, they had to pass through a cave containing the bones of fallen adventurers who had made it this far. Zagor kept a pet giant dire lizard in here, and it managed to take a nasty chunk from Talon's leg before it was dispatched. Throughout the fight, the party had the odd sense of being watched.
The next room was Zagor's, and once he revealed himself he did not last long. An arrow coated in a strong paralysing poison, fired from Talon's bow, dropped him out for the count. Zagor was tied up and gagged to prevent him casting spells. Jarren located his journal and spellbook. The journal spoke of a coming darkness, and his desire to weather the storm down here. It spoke of him hiring hobgoblins to raid caravans for food supplies and tools.
The last room held a chest that would contain Zagor's treasure. The chest had three locks. Theo was able to discern a magical lightning effect on the chest and the party surmised that they needed to turn the correct keys or they got zapped. However, they felt that they may be missing a key for some reason. Checking that Zagor was tied, they left him in the care of Talon and spend the whole of the following day searching the dungeon very carefully. The gods were with thm for they found another numbered key.
K'Aros was the one who figured out the combination, on the second attempt, and the chest opened. Within was a few thousand coins and what Theo detected as a magical ring. It would take some time to get this out.

With their treasure and Zagor in tow, they returned to Flotsom so that the evil renegade mage would face his punishment.

The End.
