Just got WOFTM and COTSW from great escape games in Sacramento.
Great to see that you stayed true to the feel of the books Jamie.
How come you couldnt use the old illustrations
I am starting a new campiain with my 8 year old step son and my 20 year old friend , and i cant wait for them to get powerfull enough to take on the challenges.

A good question Wez. We felt that the re-release of the FF books with the new covers had given them a more up to date look. It was only fitting that we expanded that to the internal pages as well. Martin McKenna did all the new, wonderful internal illustrations for Warlock as well as the new cover (which is used on both the d20 and the new FF book). Martin introduced us to Janine Johnston and we instantly fell in love with her artwork, which IMO looks fantastic in both Caverns and SORCERY! 1
We kept most of the original internal illustrations for Deathtrap (as created by ILM's Iain McCaig). Mr McCaig's work in the early FF books is awe inspiring
What do you think of the new Illustrations ?

Well reagarding the illustrations, I think the ones in The original W O F T M were amazing and the ones in DD were so good as to be up there with the best of fantasy artwork of today. I still have the image of the impaled Barbarian burned into my mind from when i was 10.
As for the illustations I think the ones in W F T M are really good say 7 / 10 but the ones in C O T S W ... I dunno definatly professional but still I would have prefered all the old pics.Just my trying to not change ways i guess.
I only just got into 3rd ed a month or so ago having fought the changes and railed against it for so long.
The covers are great but.
What does IMO mean? And ILM.?

IMO= In My Opinion
ILM= Industrial Light and Magic, which are the special effects guys owned by George Lucas (of Star Wars fame).

I know how you feel there mate. It took me along time to forget the old 1st and 2nd edition rules (having played them for the best part of 20 years). But, saying that, the d20 rules do make a lot more sense and are worth getting to know well. Plus, once you know these new rules, you are then familiar with all the other d20 products: d20 Star Wars, d20 Judge Dredd, d20 Call of Cthulhu etc...
