Well, yeterday morning Mr Postie arrived at my door with a little package from Leisure Games for me, and what was inside? Both CotSN and WoFM, all shiny and new- and all mine. First look is positive- the layout is clear, and the rules for luck as an attribute are very well done. Only slight problem is with bouncing ELs- ie a single Goblin or pair of Orcs, which is no challenge for a 4th level party, but it's nothing a little tinker won't fix. All in all though, I am thus far impressed- Kudos to Jamie and co. More after a full read.

Witty phrase pending.

How many pages? Full colour? What about the maps and artwork? Writing quality? Inquiring minds want to know!

Sorry to be so long in replying Sir..PC problems blah blah, anyway..here's the skinny for you and others- Warlock is 40 mono pages, including the four pages of sample PCs at the back. The maps are legible, but I'd seriously reccomend getting the colour ones from here instead- it looks as though they were originally colour and there is a little to much greyscale on them now. I do like the internal artwork though- very reminiscent of the old FF art, and that's a good thng IMO. Writing style is also fairly FF style in feel and tone, and it does make for an easy and pleasurable read. All in all, I'd say the conversion works as a read and as a playable module- except for my original reservations regarding ELs and challenge ratings, but a few fighter and rogue levels here and there solve that prob.
The section on cmapaign play is interesting, but I didn't pay too much mind as I'm running the mod as a special one off for FF veterans :) The new monsters in the back are also appreciated- especially the Titan Cave Troll and Iron Cyclops. Not sure about the (somewhat low) CR on the Cave Giant though..anyway, I've rambled enough for now...hope that fills in the bits you wanted to know- but the main thing is that Warlock is a faithful conversion, and it basically rocks! Big ups to Jamie and all the myriador guys, and I for one am looking forward to all the other books...

I've got them too!

They just arrived in the mail from the UK and they both look great.Hopefully I'll be running Warlock with my group this Monday, and I'll write back and let you guys know how it plays
Just adding to what Yaztromo said, I've recently been playing The Warlock of Firetop Mountain gamebook (LOVE how they're all being reprinted )and not only is the language in the d20 adventure similar to the gamebook in style but many phrases and sentences are taken directly from the gamebook, the adventure really is well written and feels wonderfully familiar. Also many of the Illustrations are different interpretations of ones in the gamebook, such as the skeletons in the boathouse or at the river crossing with the old bridge.

I paid 24.90 pounds into Myriadors paypal account and they arrived about a week later. So I paid 5 pounds in postage, which is about $256 Australian,I think

I just remembered something, before they gave me a quote on price they asked me exactly where in Oz I was (Tropical Townsville in sunny NQ ), so I guess you'll have to e-mail 'em for an exact price.
